My illus works

These are the pictures of a friend of mine. During the breaktime, he asked me to draw his face and I used illustrator to draw his pictures. Then he promised to pay me with a couple of sausages^^.

Frangipani Photomontage

I used the pictures that I took in my trip in Nha Trang to make a photomontage of frangipani, the most favourite flower of mine.

The theme of my work is The Purity Garden. The main color is white, of course. Though I really mean to add the fence to make it more likely become a garden, the flowers, the tree and the rocks actually make it a Garden.

Nokia Poster

This is the image in the poster I tend to make. I have not added the Nokia logo yet.

Now I add Nokia logo and products. Let me explain a little bit about my work. The idea was from the suggestion of Mr.Thierry, machine and human. Then I created a girl with a machine inside and still look so hot and attractive. The slogan for the product would be my creativity, machines as senses.

The poster was the combination of Blue, Red and a little bit yellow colors. I thought the yellow area at the top-right corner was not as good as the whole poster but that was all I can try ^^.

In a direct way, I try to say that the mobile phones are just machines but they will make your life full of senses. In the poster, the cog-wheels go into the human body and the light blue leaves come out. It is like a converting process. And all the things in the poster will be about the products: make your life more interesting.

Carhartt layout

I used the carhartt that U have created to add in this layout. As Mr.Thierry tried to tell us that we need to capture the viewers' eyes so I made very big "1889" to insist the year when Carhartt.Inc was established. Then I tried to make different shapes of the texts to interest the readers. Below are two works of mine.

CARHARTT

This is an exercise about making letters with texture we made by ourselves. We have Carhartt.

Gestalt Theory

As we have been told about Gestalt theory, I created this layout trying to make the elements match the three principles of the theory.








Closure: "the mind supplies the missing pieces in a composition"
On the top of this design, there are a number of squares in different sizes. They are put quite close to each other so they create a "line" in your mind, right?! A line that links from the image above to the text below. Therefore, without drawing a line, your eyes draw a line basing on those squares.

Continuance: "the eye continues in the direction it is going"
If you look carefully in the image, I hope you recognize the center point of this image. :) That is the words "of Plants"
The shape of top of the image is an upside down triangle, and the bottom place of the triangle is the words "of Plants"
Moreover, the shape of the yellow circle, which is like the moon, has the words "of Plants" on the top of the circle, and in a circle, one point at anyplace can be the meeting point of the starting and ending points of the circle. Quite strange, huh!!! ^^

Proximity: "where items are in relationship to each other and how that effects gestalt"
My idea about this element in my design was the connection between the flowers at the bottom and the yellow circle ( like a moon) and the title. They are linked together from the bottom to the top.

With this design, I try to create the feeling of gentle, mystery and strange.

Sun and Moon logo

I made this Sun and Moon logo based on exactly "SUN" and "MOON" .

Just little tiny text are used to make this image. Though it is not really good, my computer was slowed down when I made this. :( 

 

The Secret Sex Life of Plants

These are not my final results. I create an image combining text and pictures. I use 2 main colors are dark green and orange to create the unity in the work. The white background will not distract the reader from focusing on the orange parts in my work. The title is not the best I can do, it is just a try. I pay attention on creating a rhythm of orange and green pictures.



These are two versions of my works, the second one has the yellow stroke in the pictures.






What are your feelings when you first look at this design?
For my explanation, I will say that I want the viewers to feel like soft but strong. It is like an adventure in the world of plants.

Sun and Moon

The researching process from the Internet returns most the pictures about Sun and Moon expressed by a man and a woman, the love, power and trust. Before looking for the information on the Internet, my idea was a woman and an old man.

Another idea of mine was illustrated below. I love this idea much more than the above one.
From the day we were nothing but the embryos to the day we become an actual person, mothers always give us warmth, trust us and believe in who we are, love the way we are and no matter where we are, mothers are always close to our hearts. Like the sun shines on the Earth, mothers give us lives and happiness.




This is my hand drawing. The Sun is like a big Mom, the Earth is the baby lying on the Moon. The Sun gives warmth and the Moon gives the comfort. The Earth cannot live without the sunshine as the baby cannot survive without warmth. The Moon supports the baby, holds the baby. It is just similar to the past, when the farmers need the Moon and used it as a guide to grow the plants, making the foods to maintain our lives. The Moon has a very important position in our lives.
